JAZY
JAZY (Jewish Adelaide Zionist Youth) is Adelaide’s only Jewish youth movement, created to give the Jewish youth of Adelaide a place to learn and connect with other young Jewish people.
JAZY is a pluralist movement, open to all Jews whether Orthodox, Reform, Secular, cultural or Israeli. JAZY provides chanichim (kids) the opportunity to learn about and experience other youth movements around Australia which may cater more to their belief, running 2-3 outreach sleepovers a year to achieve this. Madrichim (leaders) from interstate youth movements come to Adelaide for a weekend sleepover to teach chanichim about their movements ideologies and activities and to just have some fun.
JAZY madrichim also run local programs, packed full of games and learning about Israel or Judaism or Zionism or all three! Programs also cover social justice issues like climate change and LGBTQIA+ rights.
JAZY also runs a 4-day winter camp right here in Adelaide. JAZY madrichim and others from interstate movements come together to plan an epic, jampacked camp.
