On Tuesday 22 September PBA 89.7 FM broadcast a very special High Holy Days radio hour. This uplifting journey from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur is presented by Rabbi Shoshana and features greetings by the President and many of the cheder students. Ala Sheldon photographed some of the younger members as they read their greetings and wishes for the future.

The choir performed High Holiday staples including Avinu Malkeinu while the cheder lent their voices to some traditional children’s melodies accompanied by guitar. And, of course, the Shofar is sounded.

If you have not already heard this wonderful program, I encourage you to tune in and listen to the music of the season, aspirations of the children, and the contagious feeling of hope offered by the start of a new year.
